Following her 410 Sprintcar debut at Sydney’s Valvoline Raceway earlier this month, Michaela Dumesny will temporarily step out of the NSW # 77 Maxim Sprintcar for 6 to 12 weeks to undergo surgery this week on a previous injury.
The 26-year-old from Nelson, NSW damaged her left knee playing soccer earlier in the year in which she sustained a full thickness disruption of her ACL.
“It is obviously bad timing considering our season just started,” she expressed.
“However, my complete recovery is almost a year and I’ve been limited to what I can do with the injury.”
Michaela’s surgery was recently approved after five months, so she will take some time out with hope to return before to racing before Christmas; in the meantime, Michaela’s older brother, Mitchell Dumesny, will return to racing the NSW # 77 Maxim in the not too distant future at Valvoline Raceway.
The Dumesny Racing team would like to thank Valvoline, GKR Transport, Red Ed Sheds, Max Wheel, PWR, Valvoline Engine Armour Synthetic Technology, Blackshaws, Vortex, Snowflake Blast & Powdercoating, JP Signs, Liquor Co Annangrove, Martin Walsh Electrics, Valvoline SynPower, Fineline Fabrications, Veritas Property Group, Kevin Waters Towing, KTM Australia, Benny Sorrenti, Sheridan Road and Rail, Friction Designs, Killer Image, our crew, family and friends for their 2015-16 season support.
